Travel to Vienna for Euro 2008
Location: Vienna, Austria
Vienna International Airport (airport code: VIE) is located in Schwechat, about 19km / 12 miles southeast of the city. It has three terminals and is served my a multitude of international airlines.
By Train:
The West Station (Westbahnhof) is the major station for trains to and from Germany and Switzerland. The South Station (Suedbahnhof) is likewise for Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, Poland and Slovakia.
Vienna Central (Wien Mitte, Landstasse) is - as the name suggests - centrally located and is a hub for suburban trains (S-Bahn) and other local trains.
Vienna is the capital of Austria. Located in the east of he county it has a population of 1.7 million, making it the 10th largest city in the European Union. It’s a great city to get a taste of Old Europe with plenty of grand old buildings on the 4.5 kilometre-long Ringstrasse.
